“A vibrant K Street means a healthy downtown, city leaders say” – great quote. These are the idiot descendants of those same leaders who pushed the disastrous urban renewal of the 50s and 60s which cleared out all the downtown population, then wondered “where did all the shoppers go who used to be on K Street?” You can’t have a vibrant anything with no people.
The pendulum is swinging back, but we lost so much on that urban renewal swing that it will take decades to repair. But at least things are moving in the right direction again.
